Banana Nut Cake

Sift together in Bowl:
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon salt

Add:
2/3 cup shortening
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 1/4 cups mashed bananas (about 3)

Beat vigorously for 2 minutes then Add:
1/3 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, unbeaten

Beat 2 minutes. Fold In:
2/3 cup chopped nuts

Pour batter into 2 round 9 x 1 1/2 inch prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
